Attempts

2015-2018

Consecutive vertical lines are made as straight as is physically possible.
With a brush and paint utilizing scale and gravity,
with a pen and paper utilizing the shifting movement of a vehicle in motion.
Inconsistencies repeated within these straight marks are informed by climbing up and down a ladder,
by the stopping and starting of the train.

Disruptions of the continuity of line appear as rhythmic patterns.
A portrait of reality.
A material exploration of involuntary movement.
An exercise on temporality, control and surrender.
